Central Greece, also known as “Sterea Ellada” in Greek, is a mountainous region in the center of the country, encompassing significant cities like Lamia, Delphi, Meteora, Kalambaka, Thebes, and Chalkida, with the island of Euboea (Evia) being a key part of the region; notable features include the ancient site of Delphi, considered the “Navel of the Earth” with the Oracle of Apollo, Mount Parnassus, and the narrow Euripus Strait separating Euboea from the mainland.
